Camels, Deer, Goats & Sheep Come to Reusable Art

There's been a virtual barn-yard full of animal pictures added Reusable Art in the last few months and a number of new sub-categories as well.

Public Domain Animal Images has always been one of the larger and popular categories on Reusable Art and with these new additions, I hope those of you needing vintage images for web or school projects and crafts can find something useful.

There are lots of great images in these new categories but I thought I would let this mamma goat and her twin kids represent all of them.

Umbrella Girl Story

This collection of pictures tells its own story.

The story of a naughty little girl who wanted to go outside in the rain in order to play with an umbrella. Through a series of charming black and white drawings we watch as the little girl and her little dolly go on an adventure that leads to much more than she bargained for. With or without text, these vintage illustrations tell the tale of a curious child learning the hard way to stay inside when it rains.

While no illustrator is listed, the engraver of the book this image was published in was Samuel E. Brown (d ca 1860).

Fall Bird Migration - Birds of Prey, Hummingbirds, Birds Nests and Doves & Pigeons

July's announcement of five great new categories of bird images is now joined by a number of new categories added during August and September.

Birds of Prey Images was a new category created to separate the hawks, buzzards, vultures and kites from the eagle drawings. As of this writing most of the images in the category came from a large children's book about birds which had a number of highly-detailed colored images of birds of prey.

Hummingbirds are among my favorite birds.

The small image shown here can be found listed under small hummingbird drawing.

It's always exciting when they return to our garden each spring. We've watched these tough little birds fight their way through a hurricane on our front porch and conducting aerial combat over our feeders.
